Here at Body Society we LOVE the Versa Climber! We’re not alone, this piece of kit is a favourite of LeBron James, Jennifer Aniston, James Haskell & Ranulph Fiennes to name a few! SO why should you incorporate it into your workout?
1. IT WORKS YOUR FULL BODY
The Versa Climber utilises one of our earliest and most basic movement patterns: Crawling. Unlike other cardio machines, such as rowing, treadmill and bike, the movement of the Versa Climber requires your entire body. By mimicking a climbing motion this machine taps into muscles that are otherwise not usually used, it really does target everything!
2. IT MULTITASKS
It provides strength and conditioning in one. That’s not to say you can skip your weight training – but it’s a convenient way to add conditioning elements into a cardio based workout.
3. IT’S A SERIOUS KCAL BURNER
The Versa climber burns more calories in less time than ANY other cardio activity (treadmill, spin, rower)! Studies by Men’s Health have shown Versa Climber classes to burn 22.3 calories per minute, while popular cycling, treadmill and rowing classes burn between 13 – 14 calories per minute. By working the whole body, you need oxygen to get to more muscles, which demands a greater number of calories.

Posture is a staple of proper training no matter what your goal, be it athletic, performance, weight loss, injury recovery or stress relief. You can be sure that better posture brings better results. The upright position of the Versa Climber instantly combats slouching and engages the core.

The Versa Climber can take a while to get used to. With its adjustable resistance, you can take the Versa at your own pace, the most important thing is to concentrate on your breathing and to keep strides even and smooth.
6. IT’S EFFICIENT
You don’t need to be working full out for the whole session. Our instructors use the beat of the music to set the workout pace, so you have sprints and recovery time. Not only does this keep it mentally fresh, but it pushes your body into a metabolic overdrive; so you continue to burn calories even after the class.
7. IT’S LOW IMPACT
It’s very low impact. Since you’re not actually driving off a surface like you would on a Treadmill, the pounding on joints is virtually zero. This allows you to stay in great cardio shape without putting unnecessary pressure on weak joints.
